Cranberry Fruit Salad


This fruit salad has ruined me for all other holiday fruit salads.  I adore the tartness of the cranberries and the sweetness of the fruit and whipped topping.  It’s super easy to put together, although the first step must be done the night before.

4 cups fresh cranberries
1 and 1/4 cups sugar
2 cups red, seedless grapes, halved
1 cup pineapple tidbits (drained)
1/2 cups walnuts (which I skip)
1 cup whipped topping (or more, according to preference)
1. Grind berries in food processor.  Transfer to a bowl and stir in sugar.  Refrigerate overnight and drain well before step 2.
2. Add rest of ingredients and fold in whipped topping.  Chill for an hour or two and serve.
